The donation comprised contributions from listeners who responded to appeals made on the radio programme "Fa Kye".

The items included a modern three-in-one gas oven, 10 bags of sachet water, 32 cartons of toilet roll, three gallons of cooking oil, nine bags of rice, three boxes of Indomie and a bag each of sugar and gari.

The Chairman in charge of the Northern Sector for the Tobinco Group of Companies, Nana Kwadwo Darko, presented the items to authorities of the prison. He said the donors found it necessary to touch hearts by supporting the needy in society.

He advised the prisoners to trust in the message of Easter and not lose hope in life, adding that with God all things are possible.

“The donors are promising to continually donate to the prison in order to bring smiles to the faces of the inmates,” he said.

The Chaplain of the Kumasi Central Prison, Rev. Superintendent Paa Kwesi Ansah, received the items. He expressed gratitude to the donors and said more of such support was needed.
