He said even though the electorate and Ghanaians in general comported themselves, the police service was up to the task and ensured that nobody took the law into their own hands.

According to him, the police were adequately deployed and the few who misconducted themselves during the period were apprehended and facing the law currently.

Inauguration

Mr Boakye, who said this at the inauguration of the Juaben District Police Headquarters, also praised the chiefs in the Ashanti Region for the support they gave the police during the electioneering period.

He said the chiefs, led by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, played a pivotal role during political campaigns as he prevailed on the people not to show any sign of misconduct.

He said in the case where a man was caught with a pistol at a polling station at Agogo, the culprit has been fined GH¢1,200 and the gun confiscated. Also, the man arrested with the fake Electoral Commission identity cards has been remanded in prison custody by a Kumasi Circuit Court.

He expressed gratitude to the Juaben Traditional Council for the construction of the district police headquarters.

Juabenhene

The Juabenhene, Nana Otuo Siriboe II, said since acceding to the throne some four decades ago, the provision of security for the people had been one of his priorities.

He said through the collaboration of the municipal assembly and the traditional council, the community managed to start the construction of five one-bedroom self-contained flats for the police.

Nana Siriboe appealed for support from the municipal assembly for the completion of the flats at the police barracks to provide accommodation for the personnel to be posted to the town.
