The reasons for Mr Mahama's arrest has not been officially made public but Graphic Online gathers it is in relation to an alleged dud cheque issued to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) with regard to some goods cleared at the Tema Port.

He was reportedly granted bail after EOCO had interrogated him on Tuesday. The cheque was said to be for goods reportedly cleared in 2016.

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr Kennedy Agyapong has for several weeks alleged that Mr Ibrahim issued a dud cheque to the Customs division of the GRA.

Mr Agyapong has subsequently been on a media crusade on several platforms agitating that EOCO should investigate Mr Ibrahim.
