High Court's ruling on Nduom's disqualification (Full text)

The Accra High Court on Friday ordered the Electoral Commission (EC) to allow the presidential aspirant of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom to correct the mistakes on his nomination forms for which the Commission disqualified him.

According to the court, presided over by Justice Eric K. Baffour, the EC did not afford the presidential candidates a nomination period within which mistakes on their forms could be corrected but only set a nomination day.

The court therefore directed the EC to give Dr Nduom the opportunity to correct the identified mistakes after which the Commission can determine whether or not he met all the criteria laid down in CI94.
