He is, however, expected to appear in court on May 31, 2016, to face the charge of conspiracy to commit crime. The court, presided over by Mr Frank Yao Gbeddy, has issued a bench warrant to the police for the arrest of his accomplice, Kudjo Kporkpoli, who is at large.

The facts of the case as presented by Detective Inspector Simon Kwadzo Gavor were that the complainant was the Public Relation’s Officer of China Fujian Fishing Company Limited at Asutsuare and was into fish farming in the Volta Lake.

The prosecutor said on April 14, 2016, after the day’s work, a BXI 630, a Colono welding machine was placed in the company’s yard due to its heavy weight.

He said Korletey together with his accomplice, now at large, went to the yard and stole the machine.

Mr Gavor said the following morning when the machine was not found, a report was made at the Asutsuare police station which led to the arrest of Korletey.

In his caution statement, Korletey admitted that he went to the company’s yard together with Kporkpoli and stole the machine.

The prosecutor said Korletey later led the police to Adakope village near Asutsuare where the machine was retrieved.
