Chief of Staff commiserates with Otumfuo

The Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Deborah on Friday visited the Manhyia Palace to commiserate with Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II following the death of the Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.

The late Asantehemaa, who was also the mother of the reigning Asante Monarch, passed away last Tuesday at the age of 111 following a 39-year reign.
Mr Debrah who met with the Otumfuo at the palace was accompanied by a retinue of high government and party officials.

The delegation included the Ashanti Regional Minister, John Alexander Ackon; his deputy Andy Osei Okra; Minister for Works and Housing, Dr Kwaku Agyemang Mensah; Deputy Communications Minister, Ato Sarpong and presidential staffers Kojo Adu Asare, Emelia Arthur and Mawushie Dzirasah, a presidential aide.

Others were Deputy Defence Minister, Kenneth Adjei; Brigadier General CB Alhassan, General Officer Commanding, Central Command; Colonel F. Salifu, Commanding Officer, 4th Infantry Battalion; Lt. Col. C.K. Budu Kumi, Command Logistics Officer, Central Command; Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho; NDC National Communications Officer, Solomon Nkansah; and his deputy Fred Agbenyo; the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Yaw Owusu Obimpeh and other party executives.

The Chief of Staff who was on a four-day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, has since suspended the tour.
