He said when there was religious pluralism, it enabled people to be open-minded and tolerant of others views and persuasions.
Professor Yankah made the call at the 71st graduation ceremony of the Trinity Theological Seminary in Accra. It was on the theme: “Theological education, religious plurality and peaceful coexistence in Africa”

Pluralism
He stressed that religious pluralism could be harnessed effectively to sustain the prevailing peace and also enhance national development.

“The National Peace Council (NPC) has heightened the perception that different religious persuasions could be a useful tool for world peace, order and stability’’, he noted.

Prof. Yankah said it was for a good reason that the NPC had a membership of 13 that was made up of people of various religious denominations.

He added that the current tensions in the country that had come about as a result of the upcoming election, required people with integrity and deep knowledge in religious matters to calm the situation.

Prof.Yankah also advised the youth not to be influenced by monetary inducements to engage in violence. He implored them to put the nation first and above all material considerations.
