The event was attended by old students, government officials, chiefs and pupils of the school.

The headmaster of the school, Mr Samuel Boakye, stated that the school over the years had achieved 100 per cent passes in the BECE with the students gaining admission into reputable senior high schools.

He said internationally, two past students of the school, Master Kwaku Owusu Kyerematen and Master Joshua Dwamena, are currently in the USA and Canada respectively.

He said the school had installed modern ICT laboratories with Internet connectivity in both its e-library and e-learning functionalities.

Mr Boakye advised parents not to allow their children to attend school with mobile phones and other sophisticated electronic gadgets since they distracted the attention of the pupils from their lessons.

He noted that the use of such gadgets without supervision had the  tendency to lead the children to indulge in all sorts of crimes, including 'Sakawa'.

“According to the Tuesday, July 9, 2013, edition of the Daily Graphic, more than 1,000 children suspected of under-age drinking were arrested in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi,” he quoted

"I wish to, therefore, impress upon all parents and guardians to, as matter of necessity, prioritise the prompt payment of their wards’ school fees to enable effective teaching and learning in our school," he said.

Mr Boakye expressed gratitude to members of the VIS fraternity, especially students, parents, guardians and parent-teacher-association (PTA) executives for their immense contribution to the success of the school.
