Vice Chancellors initiate moves to halt FUSSAG strike

Vice Chancellors of public universities have invited executives of the Federation of Universities Senior Staff Association (FUSSAG), to end the industrial action the association initiated last Monday.

The General Secretary of FUSSAG, Mr Jacob Emmanuel Eshun told the Ghana News Agency in an interview on Thursday, that though the association would honour the invitation, the strike would continue until their agitations are resolved.

He said some of the issues include payment of market premium allowance and 15 per cent allowance.

Mr Eshun accused the Fair Wages and Salary Commission of feet-dragging in approving their genuine demands.

He said he expects the National Labour Commission to arbitrate to bring an amicable solution to the impasse.
