The items included 50 classroom chairs and 10 classroom boards with accessories. The company has also renovated an abandoned toilet facility for the school.

A representative of Sonitra company, Mrs Tami Sasporta, who presented the items on behalf of the Managing Director, Mr Shahar Sasporta,  said the donation was to help improve the academic work in the school and the community in which the company operated.

She said that was also in conformity with the company’s initiative dubbed, “Good deeds day” to give back to the society.

Mrs Sasporta said the company would also facilitate a water project for the school to offer them  clean drinking water.

She urged pupils to study hard and keep the items in good condition.

The headmistress

Receiving the items, the Headmistress of the school, Mrs Stella Trekpo, expressed her gratitude to the Israeli-based construction company for its kind gesture, and encouraged other institutions to emulate the example.

She said with a population of over 500 pupils and 20 teachers, the school, which used not to have a decent public place of convenience, faced a lot of challenges as some students sometimes left the classroom to the house when they had to attend to the call of nature.

She said the school was also confronted with the issue of inadequate furniture and the donation was, therefore, very welcomed.

She, also appealed for support from other philanthropists, to refurbish the school’s computer centre, which presently had only five computers for teaching, with two not in use.
