Sissala Youth Forum lauds national best teacher

The Sissala Youth Forum says the recent achievement by Mr Yahaya Mumuni, the 2013 National Best Teacher, should inspire the younger generation in so-called deprived communities to reach for greater heights.

The group said it was with a sense of pride that the members walked in town, with one of them having braved the odds to come to national limelight on a positive note.

In a statement signed by its president, Mohammed Kanton, the group said Mumuni’s success “has vindicated the mission of the Sissala Youth Forum, which is to develop the human capital of our people and make them competitive for national development”.

“We were not surprised at this development because of the leadership, vision, tenacity and sense of purpose you exhibited, not only at Kanton Senior High School but also in your capacity as the public relations officer of the group,” it said.

The statement appealed to the government to invest in education, agriculture and road infrastructure in the Sissala area to “fast-track the socio-economic development of Sissala”.
