Justice Mrs Torkornoo gave the advice at the Graduation and Thanksgiving Service of the SAP’s School Ltd in Accra.

Purpose of education

Explaining the purpose of education, Justice Mrs Torkornoo said education was the process of facilitating learning or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs and habits.

“Through education, we receive enough knowledge to identify the content of the dreams in our hearts,” she said.

She noted that education would hand them the keys to developing the skills needed to set goals and mobilise all resources to achieve the set goals.

Develop your skills

“If education is what helps us to develop our values, beliefs and habits, then it is certainly the key to living life honourably and right so that in working to achieve our goals, we do not destroy ourselves and others,” she advised.

Justice Mrs Torkornoo reminded the students that the only place to get the knowledge base to compete for and be admitted to the world of work was through education.

Graduation

Seventy-nine students who wrote the 2017 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduated.

Certificates were awarded to outstanding students and the school prefects, as well as students and staff who had contributed immensely to the growth of the school.
