The project, which has already been put to use, cost about GH¢100,000 to complete.

It has offices for the headmaster and his assistants and a staff commonroom, among other facilities.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic at Adadientem, Mr Cosmos Owusu Afriyie, the headmaster of the Church of Christ Senior High School (CHRISEC), commended the women's ministry for the initiative and said the project had contributed significantly to addressing the office accommodation challenges of the school.

The headmaster also praised the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) for the tremendous assistance to the school and for embarking on the construction of a staff bungalow for the school to help reduce the accommodation problems of teachers.

When completed, the project, estimated at GH¢150,000 would accommodate six families.

Besides the project, the PTA had instituted the payment of allowance to teaching staff as a form of motivation.

Established in 1999 by the Church of Christ, CHRISEC, located in a predominantly farming community, is regarded as one of the leading private SHSs in the Ashanti Region.

The headmaster mentioned the improved academic performance of female students, saying for the past five years, they had performed better than their male counterparts in the West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination ( WASSCE).

The female-male pass ratio is about 60:40, while enrolment also has the same ratio.
