Presenting the keys to the 150 KVA generator to the Rector, Professor Sylvester Achio, the president of the SRC, Mr Sualihu Mohammed Hardi, said the decision to purchase the generator was due to the energy challenges in the school.

“It is our pleasure to contribute in addressing the energy needs of our school.  The energy crisis in the country is here too. So, we hope to collaborate with the school to improve on it he said.

 Timely donation

Professor Achio said the SRC had taken the right step by helping to address the energy challenges of the polytechnic, and called for the maintenance of the equipment to ensure that it served the intended purpose.

For his part, the Dean of Students’ Affairs at the Polytechnic, Mr Stephen Kudadze, described the donation as timely, since it would provide alternative power supply to the two hostels in the polytechnic to help students in their studies.”
