Kumasi Campus of GIMPA to introduce LLB
The Kumasi Campus of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) will soon introduce a Bachelor of Laws programme (LLB) in its academic curriculum.

The Acting Dean of the School of Public Service and Governance, Mr Nanabayin Pratt, announced this at the first graduation ceremony for 14 postgraduate students in Public Administration (CPA).
He said GIMPA was poised to make its campus in Kumasi a hub of public sector training, through the introduction of quality training schemes.
Mr Pratt noted that the institute would, by the end of this year, also introduce programmes in Occupational Health and Safety and Project Management, to equip civil servants with skills to contribute effectively towards nation building.
Decentralisation
He said the decentralisation of these educational programmes from Accra to other regional capitals such as Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale was on course, adding that Sunyani was the next destination.
According to Mr Pratt, not only has it brought the training programmes closer to the people but has also reduced transport cost and accommodation challenges which hitherto denied several people the opportunity to pursue their academic careers at the main campus in Accra.
Massive benefit
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Peter Anarfi-Mensah, in a speech read on his behalf by the Acting Ashanti Regional Coordinating Director, Mr Osei Poku, said the decision of establishing the Kumasi Campus would have a far-reaching and massive benefit to patrons, and charged the school authorities not to rest on their oars but to revise their curriculum to reflect present-day knowledge needed to transform the country and Africa at large.
Dwelling on the current public perception on corruption among public officials, Mr Anarfi-Mensah pleaded with GIMPA not to only train the minds of patrons but their hearts as well.
He said by training patrons on moral work ethics, graduands were assured of not only becoming “good managers or administrators but more importantly, imbued with honesty and integrity”.
