Security agencies to promote peace

The Police, the Military, the Prisons Service, the Immigration Service and other security agencies are critical stakeholders in peaceful elections this year.

We need to raise prayer for them that they will function efficiently and effectively in the discharge of their duties before, during, and after the December 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections. They would enforce law, public order and promote peace.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, the God of Peace will work through the security agencies for us to have and enjoy peace in our various human interactions in the country.

“Those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 9:10, ESV

And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places. Isaiah 32:17 & 18, ESV

Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of the LORD that you have spoken is good.” For he thought, “There will be peace and security in my days.” Isaiah 39:8, ESV

It pleases God to have us live within secure borders and in peace and unity.

The Police Service

In our growing democratic nation, the prime function of the Police Service is to maintain social order; social peace and tranquillity. High on their agenda is to deal with crime.

They also tackle anti-social behaviour, gather intelligence, promote and maintain public safety, and assist people in need.

• Pray that; They will be devoted to the service of mother Ghana by functioning professionally as they help the citizens.

They will have healthy and godly fellow feeling and a great heart of service.

Pray that as they give protection to people, they too will be protected by God almighty. Pray against threats to their lives in their line of duty.

• Pray for wisdom in deployment of servicemen to the 5,000 flash points/ polling stations across the country. And that the Police Service will show strength and resilience in the demand on their staff strength.

• Pray that the bad nuts in the Police Service will be exposed and dealt with. Within the past month we have had cops arrested for attacking bullion van, car snatching and training armed robbers when they are to be the ones protecting the victims of these crimes.

Pray that the bad nuts will also give up corrupt practices and greed for money.

• Pray that people will respond to the 32 days amnesty from the Ministry of Interior to turn in small arms to the police.

• Pray that the Police Council will cater well for the welfare of the police.

• Pray for wisdom for the Police to regularly work out a healthy balance between public order and the exercise by individuals and groups of their rights within the law.

• Pray that the police will have the co-operation of the people in the communities in their gathering of intelligence.

People should give them tip-offs and hints that will help them stop crime and promote public order and peace.

The Military

We count on the Ghana Armed Forces to protect the sovereignty of our nation, keep our borders safe and keep us safe within the country.

We pray for the military’s special vigilance this political season.

•Pray for the military to support the arms of Government (The Executive, The Judiciary and the Parliament) to guard the Constitution of the Fourth Republic. Internal security and peace are essential to sustained economic development and national unity.

• Pray that the Armed forces will defend us in the face of internal threats, and will readily assist to restore law and order.

Pray that the Military promptly supports the Police to curb any gross disturbance of the peace, and any criminal activities which can undermine the country’s stability.

Pray that together with other security agencies, they will keep our borders safe (by land, air and sea) and crush any threat to our national assets. Pray that they will always pursue “Ghana must win” agenda

All Security Agencies

Pray for the Prisons Service, the Immigration Service and all other security services to be regularly vigilant in the 2016 political elections season and to promote peace and protect the citizens.

Pray that all security Personnel will have a big heart for keeping the peace in the nation. That they will indeed be genuine agents of peace across the country.

Pray that they will enjoy the help of God and the favour of God in their work for the peace of this nation.

We pray, “Peace within thy walls O Ghana !!!
