RTP awards celebrate excellence in radio and television
Tonight will be a time to celebrate excellence in radio and television when this year’s Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards comes off at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The night will also offer an opportunity for patrons to jam to music performances from Ghana’s celebrated dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and hiplife sensation Kwaadee.
Already, the Kakai hitmaker has assured fans of a spectacular show as he thrills patrons to some of his popular songs such as Chop Kiss, Dancehall Commando, Mahama Paper, among a host of others.
Although not much has been heard from Kwaadee for some time now, the talented rapper who brought Ghanaians hit songs such as Yeko Mmaa Pe, Efienipa, Abrantie, Ahweedee Abena and Obaa No says he is prepared to give Ghanaians a good time tonight.
To make up for his absence, the Ahwedee Abena artiste told the Daily Graphic patrons should expect nothing short of a sterling performance to reminisce the old days when he ruled the hiplife scene.
In addition to the music performances, comedians DKB, Lekzy de Comic and O.B will be on board to crack ribs.
Prince Makay, CEO of Events Ghana, organisers of the show, said he was sure this year’s edition would be the best, taking inspiration from last year’s edition which went well.
He said new categories had been added to the awards scheme and they included Media Group of the Year, Online Portal of the Year, Digital Television of the Year and an Honoree Award to celebrate excellence in radio management.

Some of the categories to be awarded are Radio Morning Show Host of the Year, Radio Late Afternoon Show Host of the Year, Radio Mid - Morning Show Host of the Year, TV Female Presenter of the Year 2016, among others.
This year, those vying for the RTP Personality of the Year 2016 are Paul Adom Otchere (Metro TV), Gifty Anti (GTV), Bernard Avle (Citi Fm), Nana Ansah Qwao IV (Joy FM), Patrick Osei – Agyeman Songo (Adom TV), Nana Aba Anamoah (Gh One TV) and Citi FM’s Jessica Opare Saforo.
