Obour’s mother goes home
The funeral of Madam Christiana Abena Adua Siawah Addo, mother of the President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei-Kuffour (Obour), takes place at Juaso in Ashanti Akim on Saturday, October 21, 2016.

She was the fourth of 11 children born to Mr Samuel Christian Addo and Madam Alice Ankomah Addo (both of blessed memory) on Tuesday, September 23, 1947 in Juaso, Asante Akim.
Auntie Christie, as she was affectionately called, began her basic education at Juaso L.A Presbyterian School. Her smartness and intelligence gained her admission to Yaa Asantewaa Girls Secondary School in Kumasi- one of the best schools in Ghana, where she received her secondary education.
Upon completion, she was employed as a secretary at Standard Chartered Bank and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly between 1967 and 1970. It was during this time that she met and married her first husband, the late John Kofi Oteng and they had two children, Harold (Joe Louis) and Harriet (Asor) Oteng.
Auntie Christie later left paid employment and started a business of her own, trading in African wax prints and used clothing between Ghana, Nigeria and Niger.
She met and married Nana Osei Boansi Kuffour- Juaso Adenkyemenasohene, her second husband, in 1978 and they had two children, Bice Osei-Kuffour (Obour) and Pearl Portia Osei-Kuffour (Eno Abotere).
In 1992, Auntie Christie moved to Liverpool,UK, to help her younger brother raise his five children and also to seek greener pastures. While there, her caring and compassionate nature led her into the nursing career, a role she took very seriously and performed graciously, working tirelessly in various nursing homes and hospitals till her retirement in November 2015.
A tribute by her children describes her caring and loving nature. They stated that they would give anything to have her back if even for one day, just so they could tell her how much they loved and appreciated her.
“You were always there. You lived your life for us and you loved us till the very end.
Joe Louis wants to know who will help raise his children. Asor wants to know who will stay hours and hours on the phone with her, encouraging and advising her.
Obour wants to know who will be his biggest fan will be and Abotere wants to know just what she will do without you. We miss you mum. You have left us too soon in this cold,cold world.
No one will ever know quite how we feel inside.
And on that fateful July day you left, you weren't the only one who died, Mum. A piece of us died too.
We wish above everything that you were still here with us but we take solace in knowing that you are in a better place- For to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord.
And so rest in peace Mum, in the bosom of your Maker. We miss you and we love you forever!
