Adani Best, Nakodu sing for fathers

Every day is virtually set aside these days to celebrate one thing or the other around the world and though the third Sunday of June is widely known as a day for fathers, it is not marked with the same kind of fervour associated with the day for mothers.

That realisation prompted singer, Nana Kofi Adu, also known as Nakoku, to compose a special song to mark Father’s Day this year. The day falls on June 21.

Nakodu has recorded the song in collaboration with the popular award-winning singer, Adani Best. Produced by Dikoder and put out on the Family House Entertainment label, the upbeat reggae piece is rendered in English, Twi and Ga.

The song is primarily meant to illustrate fathers as important elements in the upbringing of children. It therefore appreciates good fathers everywhere and asks for God’s blessings to rain on them.

The duo’s intention is to pull minds to the fact that there is also a Fathers Day which deserves as much attention as Mothers Day. They largely succeed at that with lyrics that uphold the virtues of good fathers.

The Fathers Day song offered Adani Best and Nakodu the opportunity to work together for the first time. It seemed they enjoyed the partnership and Nakodu says they plan to do other projects in the future.

Meanwhile, a Fathers Day beach party featuring Adani Best, Nakodu has been scheduled for June 21 at the Korle-Gonno Beach Resort in Accra. Also due to perform at the event is Gasmilla, Bukom Banku and Ayittey Powers.
