They may not be well-known but HipHop duo, Total Swag, aka T'Swag, are ready to lay claim to being among the best and cement their status in the music industry in Ghana.

Made up of Leslie Kpakpo Ackwei and Nana Kojo Ewusie, the two have already hit the scene with the release of Saa Boarder, Chaley Base and One time, much to the delight of their huge social media following.

The SHS graduates have just signed on to Souled Out Record label and have begun working towards being one of Ghana’s best, just as their mentor, EL.

Formed during their days at Ridge Church School, Total Swag say despite their  commitment,  they have the biggest challenge of promotion and exposure as DJs have so far not warmed up to their work and do not play their music on air.

In an interview with the Graphic Showbiz, Leslie who spoke on behalf of the group said though they have had it tough with traditional media, social media has been a blessing for making their songs popular.

"So far, no major radio station or DJ has agreed to play our music on air, though we have approached many of them for support. Perhaps, it is because they see us as too young but I believe one day, they will realise our potential and support us," Leslie, a product of Legon Presec, said.

He, however, expressed concern about how they blend school work with their budding career as their parents are adamant they put school first.

"We are encouraged by the fact that in recent times, we have seen many artistes pursuing academic work as well as their careers and we can only take inspiration from that,” he added.
