This extends the company’s reach in the country and also falls within its plans to improve its services in the country.

Already, the company has PoPs in Nungua, Tema and Airport City and Spintex, all in Accra.

According to the General Manager of MainOne Ghana, Angelo Govina, the company further  has plans of extending its reach to other parts of the country.

“In areas where we cannot reach, we will join hands with our partners to deliver our quality services to these areas,’’ he said.

Mr Govina was speaking at a media briefing on the company’s operation at its head office in Accra on March 20.

The new PoP, he said, was targeted at Ghana’s enterprises located in the Central Business District and environs.

“We want these businesses to have access to the robust ICT services and infrastructure that MainOne offers and assures those businesses of robust ICT services and infrastructure that MainOne is known for,’’ he said.

Business environment

On the prospect of the ICT sector, Mr Govina said the keen competition in the industry was a sign that consumers would not take kindly to poor service, adding that “quality services and competitive pricing is what will let a company survive.

MainOne, he explained, had made it its hallmark to make customers the centre of their activities.

“MainOne is poised to further invest in our infrastructure and service. Since 2009, MainOne has invested over $300m in ICT infrastructure in West Africa as part of our commitment to deepening internet access across the region,’’ he said.
