Representatives of both the company’s investment and loan clients were present at the company’s head office at Kokomlemle to be taken through topics that included building a good credit, credit bureau in Ghana and bookkeeping

The facilitators were the Business Development Manager at Dun & Bradstreet Credit Bureau, Ms Yvonne Mensah-Asare, and the Head of Operations at JISLAH Financial Services, Mr Clement Agyapong.

Mr Agyapong told the press after the seminar that JISLAH over the years, had observed that clients who accessed loan facilities from the company did not have proper books of accounts.

Others, he said, had little or no knowledge of bookkeeping, which made it difficult to grant them such facilities.

“As a financial institution that is not only concerned about profit but committed to satisfying the needs of our customers, we decided to organise the seminar to equip our customers with the knowledge of bookkeeping. We hope it will enhance their business,” he added.

He was confident the move would help make the beneficiaries good corporate citizens by ensuring that they also pay taxes to the state for national development.

A beneficiary of the seminar and President of the Ghana Goldsmith and Jewellers, Mr Shallovern Srodah, described the seminar as a right step JISLAH had taken, which needed to be emulated by other financial institutions to help the business community.

“Most of us had little or no knowledge about proper bookkeeping and credit bureau. As such, this course has come at the appropriate time in this era of competition.
