The leaders of the group, Akumoah Boateng and Stephen Boamah told Graphiconline in an interview that the Agribusiness scholar is a unifier, a loyal and a competent member of the New Patriotic Party.

"Mr Owusu has served in many areas of the party, he was director of operations, training and security for the party in the district" they said, explaining also that he has trained many youth in Kwahu East in agric farming and cattle rearing.

"He has also been a benefactor of many natives in Abetifi in terms of paying their school fees and providing for their needs and that of their families", they added.

Mr. William Owusu’s promoters say he has distinguished himself among all party faithful in the district and has proven himself to be a hardworking party member.

They also contend that despite many persons being appointed to positions in the Eastern Region and the Kwahu East district, Abetifi alone has been left behind.

According to them, no indigene of Abetifi has ever been appointed as the DCE since multiparty democracy in Ghana and despite the fact that it is the largest town in Kwahu East District and secured the highest votes for the NPP during the 2016 elections.

They are therefore appealing to the Minister for Local Government and the President to consider the indigenes of Abetifi and appoint Mr William Owusu as the DCE.
