Tennis: Ghana to participate in Africa Junior Champ

 The Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) is set to present 12 young athletes to participate in this year's West and Central Zone of the Africa Junior Championship in Togo.

The competition will witness six athletes each competing in the male and female U-14 and U-16 categories respectively from January 10-21.

In the male category, Reginald Ocantey, Richmond Armaah, Aaron Asante, Kenneth Adzokatse, Michael Dosoo, and Richard Okine are the players to look out for, while Grace Tormegah, Cindy Aidoo, Patricia Nyarko, Naa McKorley and Lawrencia Aghoghorbia will all compete in the female division.

 According to the President of the GTF, Isaac Duah, players have commenced a non-residential camping  at the Accra Sports Stadium to train ahead of the tournament.

He explained that the comoeting athletes were settle on after a regional and national justifiers which took place between November and December last year.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, sponsors of the trip, the McDan Group of Companies, through its Chief Executive Officer, Daniel McKorley, said his decision to finance the trip was to provide young athletes the exposure in the sport.

He urged the athletes to take full opportunity of the competition to build them up for their future tennis careers.
