May Day Tennis: 4 Garrison storms K’dua Sat

The 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club in Kumasi will take their winning spirit to Koforidua on May Day in a special two-club competition to celebrate workers.

The May Day tennis, slated for Saturday and Sunday, is at the invitation of the Koforidua Tennis Club.

They will battle in the men’s singles, and doubles and ladies singles and doubles. 

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, the President of the 4 Garrison Tennis Club, Mr Samuel Ampadu-Kyei (Kyikyiss), said the two clubs decided to take advantage of the May Day holiday to play each other for the first time.

The 4 Garrison team is expected to be made up of ACP Adusah Poku, Kofi Affum Naffoe, Henry Akwaboah, Robert Tetteh, Samuel Ampadu-Kyei, Nana Attakora, Kwasi Dekyi, Francis Marshall, Alex Yeboah Asuamah, Brig Gen. Joseph Adu Boampong (GOC), Kofi Otoo, Samuel Taylor,  Ato Yankson and James Osei Kwarteng. 

The rest are Kwabena Asabere, Kwame Asare, Ernest Antwi, Richard Torku, Justice Edward Amoako Asante, Yaw Nimo Baffour, Nii Kwei Kussachin, Kwadwo Kyei, Maxwell Owusu, Eric Asante and Sammy Adu-Boakye Jnr.

The ladies team will include Paulina Asembeng, Charlotte Nyamekye, Dr Rabiatu E. Abdullai, Linda Oduro, Brenda Sutinga, Alice Osei Tutu and Brenda Bangdome.

The Koforidua Tennis Club is likely to feature John Afful, Kwame Djamgba, Kwasi Ahiale, Sammy Appiah, Lloyd Afigyan and Adu Baah Acheamfour, Nii Quarshie Quartet, Lawrence Krakue, Samuel Afriyie, Isaac Atter and V.G. Obeng.

The ladies team includes Stella Panwum and Linda Aboagye Dapaah.
