The Tema Country Golf Club could become the busiest course this year following a planned refurbishment works at the country’s premier golf course, Achimota, as most of the top competitions are likely to be moved to Tema.
A crunch programme release by the management of the Tema Country Golf Club for the first quarter of the year rolls off with next week’s President’s Putter.
A statement signed by the Manager of the club, Nicholas Amoah, said the course has been upgraded to meet the increasing demand and to bring out the best in golfers.
The competitions include the prestigious Lipton bi-monthly Medal, sponsored by Uniliver Ghana Limited and which enters its fourth year.
The President’s Putter which kick-starts the year’s programme is sponsored by D. J. Kofi Yim, who is reported to have pumped in a fortune to raise the standard of the sport.

A number of golfers have choked the Tema course for registration while some who want to begin the year well are expected to fine tune their training regimen today.
Mr Amoah told the Daily Graphic in a telephone conversation, the club was ready to meet the increasing number of golfers.
