Sanford Women’s FA Cup - Police Ladies in final again

Police Ladies are on course to defend the Sanford Women’s FA Cup title they won last season, after ditching Immigration Ladies yet again in their semi-final clash last Saturday.

In what was a replay of last season’s semi-finals, Police Ladies beat their rivals, Immigration Ladies 4-3 on penalties to advance to the final, their second successive appearance.

Last Saturday’s semi-final match at the Asamoah Gyan Sports Complex pitch at Accra Academy, saw the two sides play to a goalless draw game before the penalty shoot outs decided the winners.

Interestingly, it were the two national team goalkeepers who kept the posts -- Nana Ama Gyamfua for Police and Patricia Mantey for Immigration.

Gyamfua made two saves and wasted the kick she took, while Mantey was unable to make any save.

The other semi-final match between Prisons Ladies and Ampem Darkoa Ladies which was to have been played yesterday at the Sunyani Coronation Park, was rained off and will thus be played today.
