The fifth edition of the annual competition is billed to unearth talents to support the country’s dwindling fortunes in sprint.

According to Reks Brobby, the initiator of the sprints competition, the President would launch the competition after which the search for the next sprint king and queen would begin.

He said a team of experts would travel across the ten regions of the country to organise competitions out of which the best in the Under 10, 15 and 18 categories would be pooled to compete for the ultimate position.

Last month, a team from the Ghana’s Fastest Human was hosted by the President at the FlagStaff House where the President lauded the initiative of helping to revive athletics in the country

The Ghana’s Fastest Human Athletics programme is an athletic sprinting programme designed to get Ghana winning internationally again in athletics, with a seven–year focus on sprints, Ghana’s proven strength in athletics, from 2013 to 2020.

The ultimate prize at the end is that the best of the best is selected into the GNPC Speedsters Club in association with Adidas, who pay for their training, nutrition and everything else for one  year.
