The Betway Talent Search team defeated Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professional 3-0 to record their first victory since being assembled last Saturday.

The amateur side showed too much aggression and pace for their Premiership counterparts who could not deal with the energy levels of the Betway recruits on Wednesday at the Lizzy Sports Complex in Accra.

Holyfield Djanie and Jacob Kingston scored the goals for the Betway select team before intense pressure saw Liberty score an own-goal.

The impressive feat by the 24-man Betway Select Team comes just four days after they were selected.

The team is comprised of Kwaku Duah, Issahku Muntari, Amo Mensah Isaac, Aziz Muta, John Amoah, Ibrahim Abdulai, Dankwa Stephen, Julius Twum Ampofo, Djabatey Kofi Sumaila, Clement Boahen, Nerrick Ofori Tonaldo, Adam Musah, Jacob Kingston, Holyfield Djanie, Richard Osei, Abdallah Amadu, Simba Sylvester and Ishmael Alhassan.

The rest are Sadat Mohammed, Mark Kwesi Anim, Dodzi Mensah, Shadrack Owusu Mensah, Tettey Emmanuel and Robert Gyamfi.

They are also scheduled to play a friendly with another Betway-sponsored team Medeama SC.

The Betway Talent Search was introduced in 2017 by the sports betting firm as part of its continuous efforts to develop sports in Ghana.

The Betway Talent Search technical team is led by its brand ambassador and icon Stephen Appiah.

Other members of the scouting team include Maxwell Konadu, Eric Antwi Ofori, Mohammed Gargo, Sam Johnson, Godfred Aduobe, Seth Pearson, Kamaal Sait and Godfrey Malambule.

They visited Tamale, Sunyani, Kumasi, Cape Coast and Accra to scout for young unsigned footballers within the age range of 18 – 25.
