The Minister for Youth and Sports, Isaac Kwame Asiamah has inaugurated a 9-member Technical Committee to come up with a working document towards the establishment of three sports colleges in the Coastal, Middle and Northern belts of the country
This will be done in collaboration with the private sector, the statement said.
Inaugurating the Committee,
The National Sports College, Winneba, which was set up in 1984 has the responsibility of training and re-training the country’s human resource in the sector among others.
This situation, the Sports Minister believes is hugely affecting the opportunities that sports industry offer to young people who are desirous to pursue academic programmes in the sector.

Other members of the Committee are Mr. Frank Quist, Chief Director of the Ministry, Prof. Reginald Ocansey of the School of Education and Leadership (SEL), University of Ghana, Kwame Amponfi, National Sports Authority (NSA) and Mr. David Agorsor, Director, Policy, Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation (PPBME) of the Ministry.
