Hockey Africa Cup for Club Champions: Police Ladies to face KADA Queens in opener
Police Ladies hockey team will begin Ghana’s campaign to win this year’s Africa Cup for Club Champions trophy for the first time when they take on the KADA Queens of Nigeria at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra on Saturday morning (Push off is at 7:30 am) in the opening match of the competition, followed with a clash between Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Ladies and Strathmore Ladies of Kenya at 11:30 am.
The action-packed day will see Trustees of SSNIT playing against Niger Flickers of Nigeria in the male category at 4:30 pm before Ghana’s champion side, GRA, clash with El Sharkia of Egypt in a potential cracker.

The tournament will see six clubs playing against each other in the male and female divisions, with GRA Ladies and Police Ladies set to renew their local rivalry in an all-Ghana clash at 12 noon this Sunday.
Nigerian sides, Yobe Desert Queens and KADA Queens, begin the day’s hostilities at 8:00am, with Telekom Orange facing Kenyan rivals Strathmore in the other match.
On a busy second day of the competition, Trustees will clash with Nigeria’s Police Machine at 2 p.m., followed with a match between El Sharkia and Niger Flickers, and Eastern Company of Egypt versus GRA in the final game of the day.
According to the draws conducted last Tuesday, GRA Ladies and Yobe Desert Queens will meet on Monday, January 22, with Police Ladies facing Strathmore in the third match.
Trustees and Eastern Company will also meet at 4p.m. in the male category before GRA clash with Niger Flickers at 6 p.m.
Next Wednesday, Police Ladies and Yobe Desert Queens will clash ahead of the match between GRA and Telekom Orange, but the match likely to set the stadium agog is the encounter between Ghana’s male sides, GRA and Trustees.
In other matches, Police Ladies and Telekom Orange are set to clash on January 25, followed by that between GRA and KADA Queens. In the male competition, GRA and Police Machine lock horns ahead of the encounter between SSNIT and El Sharkia.
