Appiah’s birthday gala at Kotobabi Wembley

Former Black Stars skipper, Stephen ‘Tornado’ Appiah, will draw a galaxy of former Ghanaian internationals and active players to the Wembley Park at Kotobabi for a special gala on December 24 at 4pm.

The tournament, which is being organised by Nuru Bremansu, is to mark the birthday of Appiah which falls on Christmas eve.

Briefing the Daily Graphic last Monday, the legend said the event was to bring together his friends, playmates and other Ghanaian players to celebrate his birthday on the pitch and have some fun afterwards.

“Next week Monday, December 24, is my birthday so I want to bring together my friends and former playmates to play a ceremonial tournament and also have some fun later on,” Appiah revealed.
He disclosed that in all, six teams would take part in the competition.

“Myself and Laryea Kingston have a team which will be joined by Asamoah Gyan XI, Sam Johnson XI from Dansoman, Godwin Attram XI and two teams from Kotobabi,” he indicated.
