All set for NCC elections Sat

All is set for delegates of the National Chapter Committee (NCC) of Accra Hearts of Oak to converge on the Civil Service auditorium at the ministries enclave in Accra on Saturday to elect new executive members to steer their affairs for the next four years.

Briefing the Daily Graphic on the elections, the chairman of the electoral committee of the NCC, Mr Kester Ajao, said besides securing the venue, they had also printed the ballots and made arrangements for security measures for the programme scheduled to start after lunch time on Saturday.

“We have compiled a voters’ register for the first time for the elections which would be conducted by the EC. Besides, counting will be done immediately after voting in the full glare of all delegates, so we expect all to comport themselves before, during and after the elections to ensure that sanity prevails,” Mr Ajao noted.

In all, a total of 472 delegates, comprising three persons each from the 149 registered Chapters of Accra Hearts of Oak, together with 16 NCC executives, three management members and a member of the Board of Directors of the club, two members of Hearts Ladies and three members of the old players association will participate in the elections.

The positions being contested for are chairman, vice chairman, 2nd vice chairman, General Secretary and deputy, as well as National Organiser, Deputy National Organiser, Public Relations Officer (PRO) and first and second deputy PRO and Financial Secretary.

Mr Ajao said only delegates and candidates would be allowed into the auditorium during voting and, therefore, urged members to take note.
