GBA lifts Coach Martey's Ban

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA)has lifted the one year ban placed on boxing trainer Sulemana Martey after his plea to be of good behavior.

In a letter sighted by the Graphic Sports and signed by the GBA president Abraham Kotei Neequaye, it warned the former trainer of world title hopeful Emmanuel GameBoy Tagoe to be of good behavior.

Coach Martey as he is popularly referred to in boxing circles told the Daily Graphic after the lifting of the ban he is relieved adding that he is innocent.

"I am innocent , I did nothing wrong," he stated.

Coach Martey was banned last year after taking part in a melee during the first edition of the De Luxy Professional Boxing League held at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

" We hope you will be of good behaviour and not repeat your actions in this year's season 2 of the Professional League," the statement noted.
