The First Lady of Ghana, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo has received perhaps her 'best surprise of the year' after Chelsea star Eden Hazard sent her his signed replica jersey.
Belgian footballer Hazard in an Instagram video dedicates his signed Chelsea jersey to Mrs Akufo-Addo before winking at the cameras.
“Hi Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, this is for you, bye bye,” Hazard says in the short clip shared by the first lady on Instagram.
Mrs Akufo-Addo in a message accompanying the video described Hazard as one of the world's best players.
She posted: I believe one of the best surprises I have had so far this year, is receiving a personally signed replica jersey, by one of the world’s best players, Eden Hazard. A Chelsea football player, Belgian international and face of Nike Sports. Thank you so much, @hazardeden_10".
The First Lady has recently shown an interest in football, pledging her support for Ghana's senior national female football team's (Black Queens) bid to host and win the 2018 Women African Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Ghana from November 17 to December 5
I am very excited that Ghana will be hosting this years’ tournament; I believe that our women are preparing well ahead of the tournament to make us all proud,” she gladly said when a delegation from the Local Organising Committee visited her.
“I believe this tournament will help create more awareness and also project women football in Ghana. Since we are hosting the tournament for the first time, I am hopeful that our women can win the trophy for Ghana,” she optimistically expressed.
