Cape Coast LOC named for 2018 Women’s AFCON

The Local Organising Committee for the Cape Coast Venue for the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), has been unveiled in Cape Coast.

The Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Mr Perry Okudzeto, together with the Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Ms  Freda Prempeh inaugurated the committee at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The 15-member Committee is chaired by Mr Thomas Adjei Baffoe, the Deputy Central Regional Minister.

The other members are: George Osafo Agyei (Regional Director of the National Sports Authority), Nana Amba Eyiaba I (Queenmother of the Efutu Traditional Area), Chief Supt Jonathan Lamptey (Regional Director of the Ghana Police Service), Dr John Ekow Otoo, Eva Oteng and Amy Fynn-Thompson.

The rest are Mr Robert Otieku-Duncan, Frank Hutchful, Kofi Essuman, Nana Kweku Enu, Asante Fokuo, Ernest Arthur, Heroine Bart-Plange and Mrs Caroline Ewusi.

In a speech, the deputy minister urged the members to offer selfless service to ensure the successful organisation of the competition in Cape Coast .

He reiterated government’s commitment to provide the necessary support to ensure a  well-organised tournament in Ghana.
