Black Starlets will qualify — Coach Zito

Black Starlets coach, Abdul Karim Zito, has urged  Ghanaians to remain calm because qualification to the next stage of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) competition was still within their grasp.

The Starlets will fight for a place in the semi-final against Togo today after drawing 0-0 in their opening match against host, Niger last Wednesday.

With just one point in their group so far, the Starlets require victory to scale the hurdle, and Coach Zito told the Daily Graphic ahead of today’s crunch duel that nothing would stop them from progressing to the next stage of the competition.

“We shall qualify, Insha Allah,” Coach Zito said and added that he was going to vary his game plan against the Togolese by attacking throughout, although he anticipated a very tough opposition.

Any attempt by the Ghanaians to underrate their West African neighbours in today’s game could be dire because Togo also managed a draw against Niger in their first game and would be looking forward to upset Ghana’s juvenile side.

Certainly, the Togolese would come all guns blazing to frustrate the Starlets, but Coach Zito said he had an antidote to any ploy The Sparrow Hawks would employ on the day and believes victory would never elude them.
