An old Aquinas student wins Lipton X’mas golf

A 19-year-old former student of Saint Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, Felix Anthonio, proved too strong for his compatriots winning his first ever major silverwear in the last edition of the bi-monthly Lipton Golf competition while veteran Lady Scientific, Florence Etwi-Barimah won her sixth trophy and a back-to-back- in the competition last Saturday.

Playing with an impressive handicap of eight, the young former Aquinas boy his hoping his 67 net score would catapult him into achieving his dream of turning professional in the near future.

After five years of amateur golfing the young boy of the school’s sporting products including the likes of Emmanuel Kofi Shabashie who once played Ho Voradep, is ready to take on the world.

He was followed by Antim Addo and Abgenyagah C. who played to a 70 and 71 net score respectably.

Etwi-Barimah was excellent on the day beating favourites, Beatrice Vetsch-Bempong  to the top prize after some exciting moments.

Etwi-Barimah scored 72, three better than Vetsch while there were wins for Patrina Gallay for the ladies group B and Asare E. in the men’s Group B.
