Amartey in Leicester pre-season training

Ghana centre-back Daniel Amartey was among a host of Leicester City players who reported to pre-season training yesterday.

The 26-year-old who joined the Foxes from Danish side FC Copenhagen in 2016 on a four-year deal reported to be in the region of £6 million, was earlier reported to be out of the plans of manager, Brendan Rogers.

Two seasons ago Amartey broke his ankle while playing in a Premiership game for his side against West Ham with which kept him out of the game for the rest of the season.

After his recovery, the Ghanaian was irregular in the Leicester City set up with many linking him with a move away from the King Power stadium.

But it appears the manager, Brendan Rogers is still interested in Amartey’s services and has kept him in the squad as they prepare for next season.
