Agbeko outclasses Blakey in Nashville

Ghanaian heavyweight boxer, Sena Agbeko, made his second outing in the ring this year with a unanimous decision victory over America's Lawrence Blakey in a light heavyweight contest at the State Fairgrounds Sports Arena in Nashville, USA, last Saturday.

The Agbeko-Blakey six-rounder headlined Tri-Star Boxing’s special edition of “Fight at the Fairgrounds".

Agbeko (21-1, 19 KOs) proved too strong for the American, having earlier beaten Anthony Bowman on January 27 at the Fitzgerald's Casino & Hotel in Tunica, Mississippi.

Following a technical knockout loss to American fighter Raymond Gatica in his debut bout away from Ghana in 2014, Agbeko, alias African Assassin, has managed to win six consecutive fights in America, with four being by way of stoppage.

The 26-year-old had been inactive for three years after losing out to Gatica in 2014 but bounced back in 2017 with four straight wins against Timothy Hall Jr, Christian Bruffy Holmes, Shannon Miller and Brad Austin.

The victory took Agbeko’s record to 21 wins in 22 fights as he aims to make a big statement in the division which will put him in line for a world title shot.
