Will Medeama be third time lucky against Chelsea?

Five weeks ago when Medeama SC dumped Berekum Chelsea from the MTN FA Cup, they became one of the few clubs to have achieved two straight victories over the Berekum lads in the season, having earlier beaten the former Glo Premier League champions 1-0 in the first round of the competition.

Bismark Idun - Berekum ChelseaAnd Sunday when the two sides renew hostilities at the Golden City Park, it will be a search for a third straight victory for Medeama while Chelsea attempt to halt the seeming hegemony.

What will make this clash even more interesting is accumulated points of the two teams who are both tied on points and need a victory to jump to the summit of the league log.

But this clash is coming at the time when Chelsea are still recovering from their painful 0-3 loss to Accra Hearts of Oak last Sunday and would require superior tactics, extra motivation and fighting spirit to unsettle their title rivals.

Consequently, Chelsea have vowed to restrategise and unleash some of their best arsenal, including midfielders Jordan Opoku, Abdul Basit, Latif Salifu, to adequately confront Medeama’s Tanko Mohammed, Billal Mohammed, Nurudeen Ali and Godfred Rockson.Theophilus Anorbaah, Medeama SC
