Premier League: Hans Kwofie's brace earns draw for Ashantigold against Hearts of Oak

Accra Hearts of Oak were held by Ashantigold SC at the Accra Sports stadium as they opened their Ghana Premier League season with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday.

The Miners came from behind twice to earn a vital away point in the capital against the Phobians.

Coach Edward Nii Odoom named returning duo Nurudeen Sulley and Patrick Razak in his starting lineup to face the Miners.

Ashantigold came close in the 10th minute but Richard Attah saved Yaw Annor's attempt to deny them the opener.

Robert Dabuo showed great effort to stop a tricky header from the Kojo Obeng Jnr. six minutes later following a cross from Congolese international Raddy Ovouka.

The Phobians got their noses in front in the 32nd minute after Obeng Jnr. slotted home taking an advantage of a mistake by the Ashantigold defence.

The visitors drew level in the 56th minute through Hans Kwofie who connected a pass from Annor following a counter attack.

Obeng Jnr. got his second goal of the night to put the Phobians ahead after heading home a brilliant cross from Razak with ten minutes to full-time.

Kwofie equalised in the dying minute with a brace and his third of the season for the Miners as he headed in a cross from substitute Amos Kofi Nkrumah.

Ashantigold will host Burkina Faso side Salitas FC in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday at the Len Clay stadium.
