Eleven Wonders coach targets top four next season

The Head Coach of Techiman Eleven Wonders, Ignatius Kwame Ofosu, has set up three building blocks to fall upon towards building a strong team to finish among the best in next season’s Premier League.

The tactician is hoping to rely on the team’s identity and its style of play, fitness and endurance level, and the ability of the playing body to interpret his tactical approach and execute them during games as his plan to get the needed results.

Top four finish

Speaking to the Daily Graphic in an interview, the coach said his objective was to finish among the top four teams in the league. However, if the competition is organised in a zonal format, he hopes to be part of the qualified teams for the play-off.

“I want to play in the top four and the plans I will lay before the team’s management need to be followed through to fulfil such a purpose, that is the most important thing,” he explained.

Logistic support

Coach Ofosu urged the club’s executive to provide him with the basic requirements to help his work and ensure proper pre-season preparations before the league kick-started.

“We were struggling in the league because we did not have pre-season. We don’t want to chart that path going into a new season,” he said.

He disclosed that the team needed to embark on eight weeks of pre-season training and, with the materials available to him, they could make progress in the 2020/2021 football season.

Good preparation

The coach further revealed that he had only five days to work on the team after his appointment in December last year to get them ready for the 2019/2020 season.

He hopes to build on what he started with some additions to get the team in shape for the task ahead.
