Apart from Prisons Ladies who had a topsy turvy season, the other three semi-finalists Police Ladies, Immigration Ladies, and Ampem Darkoa Ladies, were consistent and impressive and their being at this stage of the competition, truly reflects their form.

Unfortunately, only two sides will make it to the final at the New Cape Coast Stadium on October 21, and all four will hope they will be the lucky ones.

Tomorrow, defending champions, Police Ladies, will be hoping to be the first to make a successful final berth appearance when they host Immigration in the first semi-final game at the Asamoah Gyan Sports Complex at Accra Academy.

Last year, Police ditched Immigration at the same stage to qualify for the final and are courting the same desire as they clash again.

If Police win, they become the first side to have played in two finals since the competition was introduced last year, as well as beating the same side to advance.

However, Immigration also have their sights set on a history, aiming to become the first side to dethrone the defending champions.

Their clashes this season in the National Women’s League (NWL) ended with a win for either side and with both having tremendously improved in form, this semi-final game would settle the score and indicate who was the better side.

Police and Immigration won’t be the only side looking at a place in the history books. Techiman-based Ampem Darkoa Ladies, the NWL defending champions, have their sights set on a double, the first time to achieve that if they succeed, but they have to clear a tough hurdle against Prisons Ladies in their semi-final encounter at the Coronation Park on Sunday.

Ampem Darkoa lost last season’s semi-final game to Fabulous Ladies and were thus denied that privilege, but having won the NWL in the northern zone, and maintaining their fine form, they could as well realise their dream.

However, Prisons Ladies having overcome their initial challenges in the season, have their sights set on a final berth too and see this as an opportunity to make amends for a not-so good season.
