CHAN 2016 qualifier : Ghana to capture slot from Cote d’Ivoire

It's advantage for Ghana as the second leg of the qualifier for the 2016 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) involvng Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire gets underway in Abidjan this evening.

Two weeks ago, daring strikes from Joel Fameyeh turned a desperate situation around for Ghana as they came from a goal down to beat their Ivorian counterparts 2-1 in Kumasi in the first leg.

In football, that means a lot as it could be enough to keep a team on the winning side, while a slip in the second leg could end it all and hand the advantage to the other team.

That is the situation Coach Maxwell Konadu and his 18-man squad in Abidjan for the return leg find themselves as they have to find an antidote to keep the Ivorians at bay, protecting their lead and eventually booking their way to the 2016 CHAN in Rwanda.
