Ashantigold signs sponsorship deal with Betway

Premier League club, Ashantigold SC, have signed a sponsorship deal with online sporting betting outfit, Betway Group, ahead of the new season.

According to Betway, the decision to partner Ashantigold was part of the company's strategy to establish itself as a major player in the development of sports on the African continent.

The deal has added Ashantigold, one of the most successful clubs in the history of the league, to English side West Ham United as the two clubs being sponsored by Betway globally.

After signing the deal, the Chief Executive Officer of  Ashantigold, Kudjoe Fianoo, described it as a major milestone that would boost the Obuasi-based club's fortunes in the League and at the continental level.

“I’m very excited about this sponsorship agreement and convinced that our favourite team and the pride of Obuasi will continue to shine and win more national and continental laurels,” Fianoo said.

 The Country Manager of Betway Ghana, Rex Danquah, said the sterling performance of Ashantigold in the development of football in the country cannot go unnoticed, hence the decision to partner with the club.

“We have followed with keen interest the successes chalked up by AshGold FC. Their winning mentality and effective and professional administration have endeared us to the team,” Mr Danquah told the media.
