The vacant West African Boxing Union (WABU) title will be up for grabs on Friday when promising Ghanaian cruiserweight, Abraham Tabul, faces off with Stephen Abbey at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.

The bout is the co-main event of the bill organised by Kalakoda Boxing Promotions and Kwesé Friday Fight Nights, which also features Ivorian brawler Sie Palenfo in action against Ghanaian Samuel Turkson for the vacant WABU Welterweight title.

According to the organisers, the event will be opened with an Afro Beat concert with local artists performing. artists for the event include M3DAL, La Memme Gang, Joey B, DJ Vyrusky and Kalakoda’s resident DJ Switch.

Billed a fusion of world-class boxing, music and popular culture, the organisers hope the combination will delight Ghanaian boxing fans.

“Ghana and West Africa is a new territory for us and we are excited about the many possibilities and opportunities that exist. The local fans are very knowledgeable and passionate about the sport and to stage an event in Bukom where greats such as Azumah Nelson call home is an honour,” Jeremy Bean, the Marketing Director of Kalakoda Promotions, said in a statement.

He also urged fans to patronise the event because the entertainment will start as early as 3 P.M. while DJ Switch will do battle with DJ Vyruskly in between the rounds to keep the crowd entertained and engaged.
