Theodore Ohene, the Managing Director of the Emporium, who presented the keys of the office to the president of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Peter Zwennes, said their decision to support the GBA was to help develop the sport in the country.

He added that the Emporium which was built to cater for the least financed sports in the country had the Bukom Boxing Arena as its lead auditorium thus the need to provide them with an office.

"We decided to present this office to the GBA as it is the body responsible for the regulation of boxing in the country to help develop the sport," Mr Ohene told the Daily Graphic.

"We expect to work together to develop boxing in the country and with the arena being the lead auditorium here, we decided to give an office for administration of the sport.

Mr Zwennes, who received the keys on behalf of the GBA, thanked management of the Emporium for the kind gesture and noted that they were ready to put the place to good use.

He added that the GBA had been operating without an office for sometime now, and that the new office would provide them enough space to work effectively for the development of the sport.
