Boxing gets another gym in Accra
Residents of Bukom and James Town last Saturday thronged the Osikan Beach Resort to witness the outdooring of a new boxing gymnasium by former boxer and trainer Adama Addy.

The facility nicknamed: ‘The Gym’ is stucked away on the left side of a playing field few metres away from the beach and adjoined to other permanent structures overlooking the Enterprise Insurance Company building on the J.E.A Mills High Street in Accra.
At a brief ceremony, the acting president of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GABF), George Lamptey, and executive member of the Ghana Boxing Authority(GBA), Alhaji Tofiq Muritella, performed the official opening by cutting the ribbon.
Coach Adama Addy told the Graphic Sports that the facility was his life-long dream to provide hope and future by getting children off the streets and giving them a livelihood in boxing with the best of facilities and training.
He expressed gratitude to Allah for making him realise such a dream while thanking his staff for their unflinching support in supporting his vision.
He said the gym was open to all who believe in boxing and who wanted to exercise and remain fit for life and healthy lifestyle.
Alhaji Tofiq lauded Coach Addy for the facility and added that he is complementing the efforts made by the late Napoleon Tagoe to construct gyms for the country.
He charged operators of the gym to make good use of the facility and ensure adequate maintenance of the facility so that it would serve the purpose for which it was put up.
