The meeting is scheduled to come off in a fortnight and is expected to bring together all stakeholders in the sporting industry.

According to a source at the NSA, the authority was yet to receive the budget for the biennial sporting fiesta from the Youth and Sports Ministry.

“But despite these financial hiccups, plans are already far advanced with respect to agendas set by the NSA for the realisation of the competition sometime in July,” he told Daily Graphic.

He explained that the sector Minister, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, would chair the conference.

The source stated that the conference would also supervise the formation of various committees to oversee the successful organisation of the Unity Games to be hosted in the Ashanti Region.

He expressed the hope that funds would soon be voted for the competition, which was purposely aimed at reviving sports in the country, identifying talents and grooming them for the national cause.
